Volunteer Appreciation Reception

Join your fellow volunteers and Hillwood staff for a spring reception in your honor on Monday, May 20 from 5-7 p.m. The online invitations via Paperless Post were emailed on April 19. The last date to RVSP is May 12.

Join staff for these exclusive talks highlighting insights into Hillwood’s collection:

  • Marjorie Merriweather Post’s Paris for a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibition with Megan Martinelli, Associate Curator of Textiles, Apparel, Jewelry and Accessories
  • Second Floor Gallery for an overview of the newly refreshed display with Wilfried Zeisler, Deputy Director and Chief Curator
  • First Floor Library for a discussion of the Sea Cloud objects with Thomas Wu, Assistant Curator of European Decorative Arts
  • Hillwood Book Sale | As part of our volunteer appreciation events, Archives and Special Collections will be holding a used book sale in the Dina Merrill Pavilion, with all proceeds going to the library’s acquisition fund. Books on sale are either out of the scope of the collection or have been withdrawn according to our collection development policy. Books will be priced at $1 – $2, and cash is strongly encouraged. Checks will also be accepted. To maintain Hillwood’s commitment to sustainability, browsers must bring their own bags to carry their purchases.
