Now Accepting Applications: 2026 Hillwood Mansion Docent Training

Hillwood is pleased to announce a new Mansion Docent training course starting in January 2026. We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to our current volunteers, Hillwood members, and others who might be seeking meaningful ways to serve and engage with the Hillwood community. We would be grateful if you could help us spread the word among your friends and colleagues who may be interested.

Mansion Docents are integral members of Hillwood’s volunteer team, playing a key role in enriching the visitor experience. Through regularly scheduled public tours, private group tours, and assistance at special events and programs, docents bring to life the story of Hillwood’s estate, its remarkable collection, and its founder Marjorie Merriweather Post.

This highly visible role is ideal for individuals who:

  • Have a warm, engaging communication style
  • Enjoy teaching or public speaking
  • Are passionate about history, art, and inspiring others

Weekday and especially weekend positions are available. The training course will run from January–June 2026.

To apply, please review the detailed position description and complete the online application available on Hillwood’s website. Applications are due by Monday, September 8.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us using the information below. Thank you for helping Hillwood to share this exciting opportunity!
