Volunteer Parking

Entering the Estate
All volunteers should enter Hillwood through the upper gate. Please observe the 15-mph speed limit throughout the estate and remain alert to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. For safety and operational reasons, do not move any cones placed in parking areas. Click here or continue scrolling to view the parking map.

Upon arrival, Security staff may direct you to an alternate parking location based on operational needs. Please follow all instructions provided.

Volunteer Parking Locations
Volunteers may park in either of the following designated areas:

1. Back Railing Parking: Located behind the Merriweather Café, C.W. Post Center, and the administration building. Access this area by driving through the visitor center lot.

      • Weekdays: Park in any unnumbered space.
      • Weekends: Park in numbered spaces, except spaces 20–23 (reserved for café staff).
      • The first spaces on the left are reserved for bus parking.

2. Lower Gate Drive Parking: Turn right onto the lower gate drive, proceed to the bottom, make a three-point turn. Then park on the left side, facing uphill. Volunteers can also access the lower gate drive via the south access road (a scenic route around the estate).

Exiting the Estate
At the end of your shift, please exit via the upper gate drive. Use caution at all times, particularly in areas where drivers may not expect traffic.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations
Hillwood offers two EV charging stations for the convenience of visitors, volunteers, and staff. For details on access and usage, please refer to the EV Charging Stations Information document and the EV ChargePoint Instructions.
