Volunteer Lectures: December Recordings & New January Date

Cozy up with a new Hillwood lecture this holiday season! The volunteer website has been updated with two new lectures hosted virtually earlier this month. These new additions join our growing archive of online content as part of Hillwood’s 2022-2023 mansion docent training program. The lectures and attendant readings from the training program double as continuing education and enrichment for all volunteers and staff. Read on for more details regarding the lecture recordings and upcoming virtual lectures, including a new date for the Paintings and Portraiture lecture.

The below curatorial lectures were hosted virtually via Zoom this month and recorded and posted to the volunteer website under “Lecture Videos.” For easy access, the video links are also included below.

Upcoming Virtual Lectures

Mark your calendars for these upcoming virtual volunteer lectures, which are part of the 2022-2023 mansion docent training program. As we get closer to the lecture dates, a Zoom link will be emailed to volunteers. The lectures will also be digitally recorded and made available on the volunteer website under “Lecture Videos.”

  • NEW DATE: Thursday, January 19 (6 p.m.) | Paintings and Portraiture | Presented by Wilfried Zeisler, Chief Curator, this virtual lecture, which is part of the 2022-2023 mansion docent training program, will provide an overview of the paintings and portraiture collection at Hillwood.

  • Monday, January 23 (6 p.m.) | Historic Objects and Contemporary Stories and Artists | Presented by Wilfried Zeisler, Chief Curator, this virtual lecture, which is part of the 2022-2023 mansion docent training program, will provide an overview of historic objects and contemporary stories and artists in the collection.
