Mansion Display Changes & On-station Pilot Program Update

Thank you for your continued support as we enter the busy fall season! We have some important updates to share, including mansion display changes and the cancellation of the on-station pilot program. These efforts are all aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and ensuring smooth operations as we move into our high-visitation period.

Mansion Display Changes

To help ease congestion in the mansion, our collections and curatorial team has identified several objects in the entry hall that have been removed or relocated. Some items have been moved to other parts of the mansion, while others have been placed in storage. These adjustments took place Monday, September 23.

For more details, please refer to the Mansion Display Changes document, available on the volunteer website.

Cancellation of the Pilot Program

After a thorough review of the valuable feedback we have received, we have determined that the on-station pilot program will not move forward. The level of on-station support requested exceeds what we can currently provide, so we are canceling the program and returning to the regular weekend mansion docent shifts in Volgistics.

Looking ahead to November, we will add one new on-station shift for the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is historically a high visitation day. Volunteers scheduled that day will also be asked to complete a short online survey after their shift to help us gather further feedback.
