Engage with Hillwood from Home

Hillwood may be closed, but we are working hard to bring the museum and gardens digitally to you during this time. Don’t miss the “Explore Hillwood from Home” page on our website – it’s your virtual hub for staying connected from afar.

We are excited to engage with our community in new ways and have a variety of content in the works.

Horticulture

  • We hope you saw Ami Wilber, floral and event décor designer, demonstrate how to create a spring-inspired floral arrangement using blooms from your yard. Watch the video here!
  • Stay up-to-date on the gardens with new What’s in Bloom videos from Jessica Bonilla, head gardener.

Curatorial

  • Coming soon! Wilfried Zeisler, chief curator, is filming videos delving into the history of a few objects from the collection (including a piece from Natural Beauties).
  • Follow Hillwood on Instagram (@hillwoodmuseum) for weekly Q&As with all three curators. Submit your questions each Monday!
  • Ever wondered which collection pieces the curators love? Wilfried, Megan, and Rebecca will select objects to highlight on our social media channels each week.

Interpretation

  • Want to get creative? Look out for step-by-step crafts, shared on the website and on social media, developed by our interpretation department and inspired by Hillwood’s collection.
  • Get your pencils and markers ready for coloring pages! The interpretation and library teams are transforming collection objects and images from the archives into sheets for you to illustrate. Add a bit of Hillwood to your home.

Of course, you can continue to enjoy the museum and gardens through our already comprehensive digital offerings, including the extensive online collections, educational video library, and immersive mobile app. Follow Hillwood on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for daily content.
