SUMMARY:Day of Horticulture
DESCRIPTION:All volunteers are cordially invited to attend a morning of gar
 den-inspired talks hosted by Hillwood’s horticulture department on Monda
 y\, March 3. This program will be held in-person at the visitor center the
 ater and light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and th
 e first presentation begins at 10 a.m. No RSVP is required. Presentations 
 will be recorded and posted on the volunteer website for those who are una

 ives\, presented by Marshall Paquin\nPeople have chosen invasive plants as
  ideal ornamentals because they add some unique aesthetic qualities to gar
 dens such as fall leaf color\, showy flowers\, and interesting leaf textur
 es\, but we can do better by choosing native plants that can showcase an e
 ven more vivid display of the same qualities when we meet their environmen
 tal requirements. Let's discuss some of these native plant choices\, prese
 nt and possibly future\, at Hillwood and how we can give these native alte

 ulips\, presented by Ami Wilber\nBe inspired and look forward to spring wi
 th an in-person floral tutorial. Utilizing tulips from your own backyard\,
  a local flower farm\, or from Trader Joe’s\, you will learn how to crea
 te a simple\, tulip-focused floral design complete with step-by-step instr

 y May Aldana\nAre you looking for a little midday snack? Perhaps something
  to flavor up your evening dinner? Or how about a cozy cup of tea on a col
 d winter day? Romaine calm! We will share a few edible plants that can be

  and 2025 Sneak Preview\, presented by Jessica Bonilla\nThere is always a
